Miniatures
Within the facility, Weta has a large miniatures construction department capable of producing any number and scale of miniature environments. It has produced everything from modern high-tech cities complete with moving vehicles, through to medieval architecture and detail heavy landscapes. Weta enjoys working directly from the designer's sketches, and can also work efficiently from architectural blue prints.
Weta has a large-scale urethane spray plant, a 3D rapid prototyper, three computer controlled robotic routing tables, digital scanning equipment a laser cutter and plasma cutter on site along with a 30,000 sq. ft miniatures construction and shooting stage.
