Design Studio
With more than 40 designers, art directors and production staff, our Design Studio is a passionate team of conceptual thinkers. Experts in 2D and 3D design, as well as world-building, writing and storytelling, they work collaboratively to visualise ideas, characters and worlds.
Manufacture
From traditional handcrafts like sword-making and leatherwork, to 3D printing and milling, laser cutting and robotics, our workshop floor has more than 17 departments all under one roof. On any given day, our artisans and technicians are making armour, forging weapons, applying prosthetics, and crafting creatures and specialty costumes.
Immersive Experiences
Cinematic thinking is in our DNA. Our Immersive Experiences team bring this approach to visitor attractions, installations and exhibitions. Areas of work include art direction, project management, master planning, media direction and audio design.
Game Studio
Our Game Studio is passionate about developing tomorrow’s entertainment. As a team of game designers, software engineers and writers, they harness the tools and techniques to bring together meaningful stories and rich gameplay.
Tourism
With experiences in both Wellington and Auckland, our guided tours, creative workshops and events give us the chance to share our creativity with the world. Our dedicated team of tour guides, retail staff and behind-the-scenes movers and shakers work tirelessly every day to give our visitors an experience to remember.
Consumer Products
From high-end statues to mini environments, prop replicas and vinyl figures, Wētā Workshop’s Consumer Products team creates cool stuff for collectors all over the world. A team of product developers, designers, art directors and production staff, they work together with our artists and technicians to develop and release each new piece.
Workshop Shared Services
Our Workshop Shared Services teams have an immeasurable impact on every part of our business. They work behind-the-scenes in Finance, I.T., People and Culture, Health and Safety, Legal, Facilities, Marketing and Communications, and Media Production to support our people and our business units, and share our work with the world.
