For Dune: Part Two, our design studio provided concept artwork for the 2024 sci-fi film's sandworm larvae. Our manufacturing team then worked with the film’s production designer Patrice Vermette, prop master Doug Harlocker and assistant prop master Alexi Wilson to make two silicon-skinned baby sandworms — one with a whole body, one with half.
Rather than having a tail, the second larvae was made with an internal mechanism that would allow its toothy jaw to extend open so that the electric-blue poison known as the Water of Life could be siphoned from its gullet.
