Director Ridley Scott’s Gladiator II enters the theatre arena with Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, its intense feuds, armies, and the Colosseum. Since its release, the film has received numerous award nominations, including an Academy Award nod for our talented friends Janty Yates and David Crossman for Best Costume Design.
As one of several practical effects companies who contributed to the film, we were excited to be asked by co-costume designer (military costumes) David Crossman to manufacture pieces worn by an army’s worth of actors. The result: 1,750 pieces of armour, from helmets to pauldrons, belts to breastplates. After all, the future of the empire is at stake.
