At Wētā Workshop Experiences in Wellington, we transform learning into a hands-on adventure, igniting imaginations and inspiring young minds with the magic of movie-making. Students will journey behind the scenes into our world of fantasy and film, where our expert crew of designers, makers and artists bring characters and creatures to life from some of your favourite movies.
Our school group space provides your students with an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in our movie magic. Here they can explore jaw-dropping props and costumes, or get hands-on with interactive learning at our creative workshops, designed to inspire students to think big and craft their own fantastical creations whilst learning techniques straight from the professionals.

Wētā Workshop is a fully operational workshop, and there are some hazards that make entering our workspace unsafe. Also, because we’re working our movie magic behind the scenes, we’re unable to take you onto the workshop floor itself.
Yes! Whilst we do not allow food or drink in our tour space, you
are welcome to bring a packed lunch and eat at nearby Miramar Park.
Our group tour size is a maximum of 60 students and we recommend a teacher:child ration of 1:10.
Yes, there is a space for one bus to drop off and pick up students right outside 129 Park Road.
Visiting Auckland instead?
We also have activities and events to host school groups at Wētā Workshop Unleashed in Auckland.
