Hundreds of years after a cataclysmic event destroyed civilisation, humankind has adapted. Cities on wheels consume one another in a bid to survive. Wētā Workshop’s design studio helped imagine this post-apocalyptic world for Mortal Engines, the 2018 film directed by Christian Rivers, conceptualising towns including Airhaven and Salthook, scavenger platforms and the colossal Shield Wall, constructed to defend the static cities of the Anti-Traction League in the Himalayan mountains.
